Our company has been a family business for over six decades now, the business was first established in the late 1940′s as a small golf training school which was nothing more than a small two room 300 square foot building on the corner lot of Jack Sr.’s 240 acre farm. Golf was not quite as popular back then as it was mostly limited to just closed golf communities reserved for the rich folks.

Golf Training – The Start of The Koutanis Golf Training School

Koutanis Golf Training School was originally set-up as an indoor putting green located right along side a gated Golf County Club although back then they referred to as Golf Communities. There were not many public golf courses like there are now and the only place you could receive any type of golf training was within one of the golf communities.

Jack Koutanis Sr. could not afford to join the golf community which bordered his farm land but he loved the game of golf and he was a very skilled golfer. The Koutanis name may not sound like your typical Irish family name but I can assure you the family was 100% Irish blood back then. Jack Sr. was the first of his family to come to the US and it was back in Ireland where he had learned how to golf, starting at the age of just 3 years old. It was a bit of irony to have one of the most prestigious golf communities built on the property that bordered his farm land.

He decided to turn one of the buildings into an indoor putting green in hopes of getting some business during the winter months and with nothing more than a road sign for advertising he ended up with more customers than he could handle. After just a few weeks of being in business he began to offer golf training lessons. In the beginning he was just giving basic training lessons indoors but after that first winter he put in his own driving range which was the first of its kind back then.

Before long the business became an all out golf training facility and he had more business then he could handle. He became so popular among the members of the Golf Community that he was offered a position as the first in house golf training instructor. Jack Sr. held that position for the next four years and once he had saved up enough money he began to design his own nine hole golf course right on his farm.

Golf Training 4U The Latest Chapter!

The Koutanis Golf Course became one of the first public golf courses in the state. Jack offered his golf training lessons and course fees at a rate that was affordable to the average family. That two room indoor putting green had turned into a full 18 hole public golf course with its own driving range and a full-time golf training school within just seven years.

Now almost sixty years later the company owns public and private golf clubs across half the country and it employs some of the top golf training pros in the world. This particular site Golf Training 4U was started back in 2008 and at first it was only expected to be a small project not connected to the main business but now that it has grown in popularity with thousands of subscribers we are now able to bring you huge discounts on golf supplies of any type.
